What inspired you to start your blog?
I was bored during spring break my Junior year of college. My first blog post was Things to Do during spring break. My blog was my open diary, that led to becoming a place of evoking women empowerment, and “Turning Negatives into Positives”.
How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
I find freedom, redemption, and internal inspiration through writing and uplifting others. Although its open for the public to read, every post is made therapeutically for myself before anything else. Also receiving feedback from my friends, family, and strangers that support the blog reminds me that my words are beyond my own thoughts, but apart of my purpose and calling to channel spiritual healing.
What impact has blogging made on your life?
Blogging has opened doors for me to connect with hundreds of other bloggers, creators, and entrepreneurs. I’ve been granted opportunites to work with many brands including Purell, Femme Noire, Influensters, 310 Lakeside, and more. I have formerly served as the Regional Director for Black Bloggers United, and hosted several Blogger Meetups in both Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. Most exciting, blogging has opened the opportunity for me to book gigs as a Motivational Speaker.
What are some of the challenges you’ve faced as a blogger?
Staying consistent. I have this thing where I’m committed to being intentional. I believe in serving with a purpose versus putting anything out just to fit in with a trend or “stay relevant”. But then on the contrary, remembering to be put out new work .
What advice would you give aspiring bloggers?
Be authentic, move intentionally, find a product to monetize, and stay connected with those that show love.
